Dharmendra Prakash, an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer from the 1989 Nagaland cadre, currently serves as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force for the Government of Nagaland. With extensive experience spanning multiple ministries—Environment, Forest and Climate Change (EF&CC), Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Coal, and Railways. He was instrumental in launching the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) with assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), focusing on community forest conservation and alternative livelihood programs. His leadership extends to international engagements, having represented Indian MSMEs in trade fairs, negotiated on behalf of various ministries, and played a key role in the promotion of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) within MSMEs.
